William Hill Poker is part of the iPoker network of poker sites which normally ranks as the 3rd most popular online poker destination.
Unfortunately, WilliamHill.com offers no native Mac download or even a flash version for Mac users at this time.
The William Hill poker download provides many of the normal features you would expect from the top online poker sites, such as a four-color deck option to easily identify the suits, player note taking, buddy list, player points program, real-time game history to analyze your play, live support, avatars, lobby and search filters, and mini-table views for fitting multiple tables.
The William Hill poker download also has some useful features that are not so common among a majority of poker sites.
The William Hill download provides two ways to view the poker lobby, the traditional 3-pane view and the updated 2-pane view. The new 2-pane lobby includes all the info the original view has, but provides extra details when a specific table/tournament is clicked. The row will then expand and show such details as the player names at the table, the players that are in your buddy list or have notes, the chip counts of each player, and the overall amount of chips at the table.
This feature is quite useful because it allows you to quickly see if you have notes on those players. It’s also to your benefit to take a seat at a table that has plenty of chips for you to take.
The buddy list is very useful and offers plenty of management features. The buddy screen allows you to organize you friends (or enemies or fish!), see more info, edit, add notes, and more.
Players in your buddy list that are currently logged will have a green light next to their name. You can see the tables where your buddy is seated, up to six of them simultaneously. You can also organize your buddy list into groups, such as true “friends”, but then also “sharks” (avoid these players!) and “fish” (go eat them up yum!).
Another advantage of playing at William Hill Poker is the built-in casino games. The “Casino Games” tab instantly takes you to your favorite casino games, all within the William Hill Poker download, so there is no need to create another account or make a separate deposit for casino chips.
Because William Hill Poker hosts players from all over the world, the poker room supports multiple currencies and provides multicurrency poker tables where you can play on GBP, EURO and USD tables. For multi-tablers, a useful new feature added to the poker software is function key support. You have the ability to use your keyboard function keys, F1-F5, rather than using the mouse for your poker table actions. This is really useful when multi-tabling, and allows you to efficiently control the action.
Other updates include advanced filters for finding the right table or tourney for you, auto re-buy options in tournaments, auto-reconnect, and bounty jackpots.
